September Total Income:
Ended up picking up a few extra shifts this month to help out some colleagues. I also got fiscal year-end bonus from one of my jobs, thus got an extra $10k boost to my usual income. Telemed has been on the back burner as life has been busy on days off between family time, home/boat maintenance items. My wife also got her 401k match thus giving her an extra boost too.
Expenses
Big item this month was my sons yearly school tuition. I continue to be surprised by how much spending we have on our credit cards each month. Lots of maintenance issues continue to plague us and increase our monthly expenses. Seems like every month there is some big unexpected bill. While we certainly enjoy life, eat out or get take out a few times a week, I don’t feel like we live extravagantly, the expenses just rack up.
Investments
September was another great month for the market and we continue to move up and to the right. Now knocking on $3.2 mil.
My wife got a nice 401k match from her work deposited this month (almost $3k), otherwise no major investment contributions. I am saving up cash in HYSA now for end of year tax payment.

My Financial Goals for 2026
- Hit $3 million in investments: We did this, June 1st!!!!!
- Pay down mortgage and recast – DONE – 260k extra payment (family gift) and mortgage recast done, payment changed from $3,759 $2,450
- Obtain umbrella insurance – DONE! We finally obtained a $1 mil policy.
