October Total Income:
Another busy month of shifts, telemed continues to be on the backburner and I have continued to pick up a few extra clinical shifts each month as everyone remains short staffed in the area. Typical work month for my wife, she has maxed out all her retirement accounts so we are now getting some extra cash deposited into our checking each month. HYSA is up as I have a cash position ready to pay out end of year S corp tax bill.
Expenses
Lots of big expenses this month pushing up our credit card bill, a few maintenance items on the house.
Investments
Early October the market hit record highs but we had a large drawdown into November given election volatility.
Only move we made this month was maxing out my son’s Trump (530a) account with $5,000 contribution. Goals are hit for the year, these will be tweaked as I get my final tax numbers from accountant.
Investment Accounts:
We dropped a bit into November. Hoping we get a Santa rally by the end of the year!
My Financial Goals for 2026
- Hit $3 million in investments: We did this, June 1st!!!!!
- Pay down mortgage and recast – DONE – 260k extra payment (family gift) and mortgage recast done, payment changed from $3,759 $2,450
- Obtain umbrella insurance – DONE! We finally obtained a $1 mil policy.
