June Total Income:

A family member died. I had to take time off. It sucks. That’s all there is to say for this month.
Expenses

Had some extra travel expenses added to the credit card for this month, otherwise it was a typical spending month for us.
Investments

I received approximately $232,000 in inheritance mainly via traditional IRA and some in Roth IRA, taxable and a small insurance payout. This allowed us to break through the $2mil investment account. We are officially multimillionaires. The stock market also returned >3% for June 2025 adding to our gains.

My wife continues to fund her 457, will hopefully be maxed within next 3 months. Most of my inheritance is in a traditional IRA which I plan to leave in there for now (I must withdrawal it within 10 years). All the extra money I have, I dumped into our taxable account and continue to aggressively invest. I’m holding very little cash right now as we will also receive some more money within a few months from house sale inheritance.
Investment Accounts:

+374k swing for the month, unexpected given 200k+ inheritance, but will allow the compounding to continue. We continue to discuss starting to pay down our mortgage a bit more given our investments have grown so much in the past two years. It remains up to debate.
My Financial Goals for 2025
- Hit $2 Million in investments. DONE
- DONE- PAID OFF IN FEBURARY!!!! Pay off remaining student loans. I start the year with ~$95k left in student loans refinanced to 1.1%. I know mathematically it makes zero sense, but I only have two years left on them regardless. I plan to fully fund my retirement accounts in the first quarter of 2025 and then have them gone by midway through the year.
- Work less? It’s finally happening…dropping down my shifts later this year
